| Description | The Risk Management Grant program was established in 2009 and provides members with 1% of the MIABC’s equity each year to fund new risk management initiatives. This is equivalent to returning 4.5% of annual premiums to our members. The grant program has proven to be an extremely valuable risk management tool for our members. Since its inception, we’ve provided over $3 million in funding. |

Company Requirements
Section titled “Company Requirements”Any risk management project or initiative is eligible for a grant, provided it is aimed at reducing liability or property claims.
- For example, a member could use their grant to fund a policy audit, conducted by a risk management consultant or one of the MIABC’s Risk Control Specialists. The audit might include interviews with staff to better understand whether service levels and resources are sufficient, resulting in recommendations for additional policies or policy revisions.
Project Eligibility
Section titled “Project Eligibility”- To apply for this grant, simply identify a risk management initiative you would like to implement and tell us how you expect it to reduce liability or property claims.
