Section titled “Hiring is paused due to finalizing interviews with shortlisted candidates.”You, as Machine Learning Research Scientist (PAUSED), will join a remote work team of one machine learning PhD and two senior engineers — based in China and Canada with prior working experience at data-driven powerhouses like the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) and Salesforce Tableau — to work on time series forecasting problems mainly in the cryptocurrency market (i.e. crypto futures contract algorithmic trading). It’s a remote work position to start but you may have the option of hybrid work after we build an office in the BC Coast, expectedly around the third quarter of 2023. This will provide us the opportunity to have on-site collaboration with one another. To put it another way, you will soon have the option to work from the convenience of your own home or to participate in face-to-face meetings with the other members of your team in a central location.

In the second stage of the hiring process, shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in up to three (3) rounds of Lark video conference interviews with members of our engineering team. It takes around three to five weeks to finish the whole process. You are more than welcome to text our Director of Operations (Terry) to communicate on issues that you think can be addressed quickly.

👣Qualifications - Skills and Experience
Section titled “👣Qualifications - Skills and Experience”- Machine learning degree or 4+ years experience developing production software systems such as data pipelines, deployed machine learning models, or dashboards
- Strong technical drive, proactive, self-management abilities, outstanding communication and cooperative attitude, great issue analysis and problem solution skills
- Desirable: Experience in dealing with large time series datasets in a highly performant way on AWS or other PaaS
- Desirable: Experience with serverless and data pipelines in a production environment.
- **Desirable: **Participation in open source projects, as well as personal works and blogs (please provide examples, personal site address, GitHub account, etc.)
💰Compensation
Section titled “💰Compensation”- Negotiable base salary starting from 60k CAD, performance bonus, and stock options.
- There is a mandatory probation period of six (6) months for all newly hired full-time employees. Compensation is up for discussion and will be subject to revision after a period of six months to one year.
